In order to showing you the new mental outlook of Chinese people and the new appearance of the Beijing city, various kinds of cultural activities will be hold in Beijing. China International Youth Arts Festival is one of the most important activities. As one of the activities of “Meet in Beijing in 2008” that is held by the Ministry of Culture, the Youth Art Festival attracted about 2000 young artists who come from the United States, U.K., Spain, Canada, Japan, and China.
The China International Youth Art Festival includes 14 performances. The artists from home and abroad showed their best wishes to the Olympic Games by using different artistic methods. It becomes a bright spot since it opened in Beijing. It offered the audiences in Beijing a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the characteristic art performances from different countries.
In the closing ceremony-Commitment to Youth, we experienced that the Youth Art Festival is international, creative, classic, and fashionable. The performance of Jasmine is the overture of the closing ceremony, and it was played by a orchestra which consists of hundreds of middle school orchestral music players from Xian, Shenzhen, Beijing. The song of Young Friends Come and Join Us that was performed by the famous singer Li Guyi won the applause of all the audience. Than the foreign artists Gary Malkin and Fawni brought us into an exotic world. Moreover; the dances of Cloth Tiger, Happy Tibetan, and Red Lantern presented us the colorful Chinese culture. The director of the State Council Leading Group Office Poverty Alleviation and Development Liujian, the executive-chairman of China International Cultural Communication Center presented and enjoyed the closing ceremony. At last, the closing ceremony ended in the singing and dancing performance of Please Stay, the Guests from Far Away. And we look forward to get together again in the next China International Youth Art Festival.
